The mental model is Future Dopamine Escape.
The problem is not that the mind has desire. Desire is normal. The problem is that the mind rejects the plain current moment and keeps projecting salvation into a future dopamine moment: food, screen, outing, praise, sex, success, shopping, travel, money, or some imagined "then I'll feel good" state.
The core DNA is: plain present + discomfort + future image + dopamine promise + body craving + aversion to now + escape behavior + temporary relief + return of plainness.
The first category is plain present. This is the moment the mind does not want. Variables are sitting at desk, working, boring task, empty room, normal morning, normal night, body sitting, breath moving, screen open, task waiting, no stimulation, silence, ordinary food, same room, same life, same work, same body, same responsibilities. The present is not necessarily terrible. It is often just not stimulating enough.
The second category is present-moment aversion. The mind subtly says no to what is here. Variables are I do not want this, this is boring, this is not enough, this feels empty, this feels dull, I need something else, I cannot sit here, I need a break, I need taste, I need entertainment, I need a person, I need movement, I need a better mood, I need a reward, I need escape. This aversion is the first fire.
The third category is future dopamine image. The mind creates a small movie. Variables are eating tasty food, ordering something, watching YouTube, watching movie, scrolling Instagram, going out, meeting someone, talking to a girl, getting praise, checking ads and seeing good numbers, buying something, traveling, being in a cafe, being in another city, having sex, getting rich, boss respecting me, body looking good, life finally feeling exciting. The mind says: there, not here.
The fourth category is dopamine promise. The future image carries a promise. Variables are relief, pleasure, aliveness, importance, novelty, comfort, sweetness, taste, validation, control, escape, reward, status, romance, fun, freedom, freshness, completion, arrival. The promise is usually: if I get that, this inner discomfort will stop.
The fifth category is body craving. The future image is not only mental. It creates body pull. Variables are salivation, restless legs, chest leaning forward, hand reaching for phone, stomach craving, sexual charge, face heat, eye hunger, breath speeding, body agitation, finger twitching, urge to open app, urge to order, urge to message, urge to leave room, urge to check. The body begins moving toward the imagined reward.
The sixth category is current-task rejection. Dopamine escape makes the task look worse than it is. Variables are this task is boring, this task is pointless, this is too hard, I can do it later, I need mood first, I need energy first, I need inspiration first, this can wait, I deserve a break, just five minutes, after eating I will work, after watching this I will start, after going out I will feel better. The future reward becomes a reason to abandon the current bead.
The seventh category is escape behavior. This is where the loop becomes action. Variables are open YouTube, open Instagram, order food, check WhatsApp, refresh ads, watch random video, scroll reels, message someone, fantasize, search travel, browse products, look at old photos, eat sugar, drink caffeine, avoid task, lie down, jump to another project, ask AI random questions, overplan future. The escape may feel productive, but it is usually avoidance.
The eighth category is temporary relief. The escape works briefly. Variables are taste pleasure, screen stimulation, novelty, laugh, distraction, validation hit, pleasant fantasy, body comfort, social warmth, dopamine spike, stress reduction, boredom gone. This is why the loop survives. It gives something. But it gives it briefly.
The ninth category is return of plainness. After the hit, the ordinary moment returns. Variables are same task, same room, same body, same responsibility, same debt, same work, same ache, same uncertainty, same unfinished task, same self-disappointment, same craving cycle, less time, more guilt, more heaviness. The future dopamine moment did not solve the present. It only postponed contact with it.
The tenth category is Vipassana view. Vipassana breaks the loop by seeing it as sensation. Variables are craving sensation, restlessness, salivation, heat, tightness, future image, pleasant imagination, urge, aversion to now, boredom sensation, body leaning, thought saying later, thought saying reward. The practice is: craving is arising, aversion is arising, urge is changing, image is not reality.
The eleventh category is Devi view. Devi receives both the craving and the plainness. Variables are Devi, this boredom is Yours, Devi, this food craving is Yours, Devi, this screen hunger is Yours, Devi, this desire to escape is Yours, Devi, this dull moment is Yours, Devi, this restless body is Yours, Devi, this task is Yours. You do not need to become pure first. You offer the exact pull.
The twelfth category is task-line correction. The antidote is not always "never enjoy." The antidote is do the next clean task before obeying the craving. Variables are one paragraph, ten breaths, five-minute timer, one hook, clear desk, send message, finish report section, walk consciously, drink water, eat planned food, save note, complete one bead. You teach the system: reward does not command me; task comes first.
The thirteenth category is conscious pleasure. Pleasure is not the enemy. Unconscious escape is the issue. Variables are planned meal, planned movie, planned outing, planned rest, planned social time, planned dessert, planned music, planned walk, planned celebration. If pleasure is chosen consciously after task completion, it becomes recovery. If it hijacks the task, it becomes leakage.
The fourteenth category is training move. When the mind says there, not here, respond with: what is here? Variables are breath here, body here, task here, ache here, craving here, room here, sound here, screen here, hands here, one line here, one step here. This brings attention back from fantasy to contact.
The fifteenth category is identity shift. The old identity is I chase the next stimulation. The new identity is I can stay with the plain moment. Variables are I can sit, I can breathe, I can feel craving, I can delay reward, I can finish one task, I can choose pleasure consciously, I can be with boredom, I can return, I can offer this pull, I can live the ordinary bead.
The sixteenth category is highest leverage practice. Do this daily: pick one moment when you want to escape. Do not suppress it. Pause for 60 seconds. Feel the body craving. Name the future image. Offer it to Devi. Then complete one tiny task before deciding whether to take the pleasure. This single rep trains freedom.
So the problem is not dopamine. The problem is unconscious future worship. The mind keeps saying life is in the next hit. Practice says life is here, in this breath, this body, this task, this offering. Pleasure can come, but it does not become your master.
The line to remember is: The mind says joy is in the next hit. Practice says freedom is in staying with this moment without being owned by the hit.
